Visiting the Bentley's!

While in China, Chris and I and Caleb are going to be visiting Harmony House - a charity started by John and Lisa Bentley. You may recognize their name/charity because of the international media attention they received about their son, Levi. Lisa has written a book called "Saving Levi" and it is extrememly touching and moving. My friend, Peggy, gave it to me as a gift to help me get through some of this dreadful waiting time and I was incredibly blessed by it!

Their now adopted son, Levi, was found as an infant, badly burned in China. The story is about how Lisa and her family pushed to save his life, finally getting him miracle medical care in the US.

John and Lisa started Harmony Outreach. Here is a quote from their website:

But our work is not just to save lives so much as it is to transform their lives. The children who come into our care have everything against them. Born into a developing country with special needs and abandoned by their parents, they grow up in orphanages without the love of a family to help them in life. And when they are old enough to be released from the orphanage they step into the world alone and unprepared for what lies outside of the orphanage walls.
Our goal is "to visit these orphans in their affliction" and transform their tragic stories into beautiful stories of redemption and love.

So, you can imagine how excited Chris and I and Caleb are to visit this family, the children of Harmony House and to see how we can help by partnering with them in raising some much needed funds for medical surgeries.
